Now get this -- the only episode of this series to feature a werewolf, aired on 29th August 2000. To my knowledge in the last decade there have only been three children's cartoons to heavily feature werewolves, the other two being "Monster Mash" and "Alvin and the Chipmunks Meet the Wolf Man". And both of these were released on the same day -- 29th August 2000. Is that spooky or what?

Bearing in mind that this it's a kid's tv episode, it doesn't handle the werewolf idea that badly at all. What gets Mona's imagination going in this episode is when her dad shows up at the house in a werewolf mask, trying to scare them. This gets her asking what it would be like the be a werewolf, to which he responds it wouldn't be very nice at all. He says, at the full moon then hair starts growing "first from your hands, then from your face", then all the other animals start hating you and silver becomes deadly. Here we see several different designs for werewolves over the course of the episode, the final one being the best (see bottom photo), and the transformation sequences are actually pretty neat (see top photo).
The werewolves aren't exactly that threatening ... this one is for some reason terrified of small animals, and is eventually defeated by a chocolate wrapper (because apparently they're made of silver), but hey, this is a kid's cartoon we're talking about. It's a damn sight better than Scooby Doo and the Reluctant Werewolf, and much shorter too.
