After several years in post-production limbo, An Erotic Werewolf in London is finally released. Mostly shot in the USA (a few exterior scenes were shot in London) this Seduction Cinema production is very interesting. Anoushka stars as an eastern european werewolf who infects Misty Mundae in a gay bar she co-owns with Ruby DeLaRocca. Anoushka goes back to London and tells her life story to a newspaper reporter. Meanwhile the infected Misty recovering in a hospital begins to change.
Interesting plot and the HLA makes this one a good movie. I wished they would have expanded Misty's character.
I love the story, the characters and the overall cheesiness of this movie. The actresses were hot and I recommend this film for anyone who likes to see gore, female werewolves, bad acting and some nice HLA. I was impressed by the filmmaking despite it's low budget and tepid directing. I wished they would have expanded some of the background story a bit more.
A bad movie that's fun to watch. A young married couple's night is ruined with a giant cicada (yep, that's right) get's to fulfill the husband's martial duties. Years later, their offspring goes through some major changes during puberty. Dark, depressing and gloomy fun. This is not a werewolf film, but it has the metamorphoses theme and similar plot to one.
The concept was interesting but the film tries too hard to be fun. Is this film supposed to follow the original story line? The marsupial werewolves are too creepy and the plot is pretty far fetched (even for a werewolf film) and the low budget production values are prominently on display.
A sad and depressing tale about a sweet old lady who takes in a mysterious drifter. The drifter is a crazy werewolf who infects her and the two go on nightly hunts? How will her son and the rest of the family react to Mom's new hobby? It's an okay time waster, it's too sad and downbeat for most people.
A hot red head falls victim to an ancient curse. The movie also involves a shady real estate scheme, a bad photographer, a bunch of Romanians acting Welsh and a old man who badly needs a shave constantly telling the red head that she needs to leave town. I wish they focused more on the main character and her dealing with her curse. The movie had a great concept but it fails in the end. The lead actress makes this movie interesting.
A very bad movie, not even the hot chick who's prominently featured on the DVD's cover can save this one. I wished the filmmakers spent a little more time on pre-production before filming this turd.
Oh this movie is a stinker. I could not find anything worthwhile about this picture. I mean it's really bad; the acting, special effects, directing, photography and lighting are all just atrocious. It's great however if you suffer from insomnia.
There is nothing worse than a bad werewolf movie. Well, okay a boring and bad one and this is what this is. A lame and tired made-for-television movie that'll bore you to sleep. I watched the whole thing waiting for something cool to happens and guess what? Nothing cool happened.
An interesting movie that fails to deliver. I wished the filmmakers would have focused more on the lycanthropy aspects of the movie instead of turning it into some weird Freudian study of sexual nature and repression. Maybe some day someone will take the basics of this film and make it into a very entertaining and watchable film.
Howling II is a bizarre sequel/parody from Australian filmmaker Phillipe Mora. The film picks up from the first film. Due to the strangeness of the story, the movie movies from California to the mountains of Transylvania. Ben White (Reb Brown) discovers the truth about his dead sister and heads off to Romania along with Jenny to face off against the Werewolf "Bitch" (Sybil Danning) and her gang of werewolves. Her brother Stefan (Christopher Lee) helps our heroes in their conquest. According to Mora, the movie was supposed to be a dark comedy/spoof but the producers wanted a gorey horror film and it was hastily re-edited in post production to remove the comedic elements. The end credits give a hint of what the movie's original intent was supposed to be (and a whole lot of Sybil).
I enjoyed this reboot of "The Howling" series. I'm not even going to compare it to the original film but if you put it next to the rest of the films then I'll have to say its not bad. The Howling Reborn is not a classic by any means but a fun little time waster that takes advantage of it's low budget. A teenage boy discovers a family secret about his long lost mother, finds the love of his life and the cruel hierarchy that runs his school.
The movie had an interesting premise but it sort of peters out at the end. One thing I didn't care for was the film's alternate title because it ruined the movie for it. I did enjoy the acting but the werewolf "effects" are the doggie's dinner.
