Not bad. Definitely not as good as the original film but is an ok sequel.
The insane asylum scenes are very interesting and Bridgette's transformation visions were awesome.
Good film overall just not as epic as the first.
This movie surprised the hell out of me. Good story, good acting, and the two sisters are wicked.
I was impressed with the werewolves and the realism.
Highly recommended. It is a fun movie.
A bit cheesy but not terrible. This film could have been alot better in the story writing and laying off the comedy bits.
I do like some of the chase scenes and the party near the end of the film to draw in the Americans was cool.
It's just an "ok" film.
This film is bad ass! I saw it a very long time ago and was impressed then, only to watch it again recently and was completely enthralled by it.
The creature scenes are awesome.
The beginning of the movie just takes the cake for alot of werewolf films.
Acting in this story is great.
I was actually very surprised with this film. At first I thought right away of John Carpoenter's Vampires and all the similiarities. I alos thought of Lost Boys.
As the film progresses it really picks up and delivers.
The story isn't bad at all and the acting is pretty good.
Definitely a good movie.
Wow. Here is a film filled with mysticism and sex. More of that than wrewolves. Christopher Lee and Sybil Danning, what a weird combo!
Acting isn't too bad here. Storyline is a bit vague but it works. The scenery in this movie is extraordinary. especially all the old graveyards and gothic buildings.
The creatures in this Howling are pretty cheesy. I was not impressed at all with the actual wolves. The film was entertaining in other aspects though. The debauchery and rituals make up for the lack of wolven terror.
The special effects here are cartoonish and old school as hell. but not terrible.
The Wolf Prayer! That should say it all.
Bela Lugosi changes into a fully-fledged black wolf. Bad ass.
All of the acting here was top notch at the time as was the story-telling. Even the old special effects such as: the pentagram shadow, all the old school wipes and fades, and the transformation scenes are great. This film may not hold up to special effects and creature costumes of this day and age but definitely holds it's own and is an original. Alot is to be respected for originators.
If your a werewolf addict and lover as I am, you must have this in your collection.
Anthony Hopkins did a great job. He always does in almost every film he is in, but he brought his grade A acting to this set. The scene of him locking himself in the crypt was top notch.
I went into this movie with alot of expectations and was hopeful that I'd be enthralled by it. I was for the most part. The only negative things I can say about the movie are:
Too many times I thought of Bram Stroker's Dracula and Sleepy Hollow
I wish someone other than Benicio Del Toro was casted
Other than that, I loved the film. The chase scenes were intense, the creature was very believable, and the overall dark tone of the film was mystifying. The scene in the classroom when Lawerence transforms and terrorizes was very cool. The gypsy camp scenes were really well thought out and the acting was great. The opening of the film was killer!
This is a good film. It is not classic but very good. I was glad to go to a theater to watch it.
This installment of The Howling series is a joke.
The acting is terrible. The whole feel of this film is lame and cheeseball. I was totally disappointed and disgusted.
Why would anyone want to try and blaspheme and make cute, cudly baby wolves?
I am not usually so negative towards any horror film as I can always try to gather something from them, but in this case, it was a total disaster.
More of a comedy from the 80's than anything else.
This movie has always been a favorite of mine. I saw it as a kid. It gave me chills!
Acting and storylines have always been important to me. This film does well on both fields. I believe these people are scared for their lives and I also believe the wolves are out for blood.
I cannot stand Christopher Stone as an actor but in this film he even impressed me.
The creature scenes are bad ass! The wolves are terrifying. Gary Brandner's vision came to life in this film.
Great movie. This film will definitely stand the test of time. Hell, it already has!
I was hoping this movie would not be included on this website.
I have to admit, as a teenager I actually could watch the first Teen Wolf and enjoy it. This one is terrible. The first one was at least comical and had a bit of zazz to it. Nothing here but wasted time.
Jason Bateman! Ha Ha! Did he ever do anything good? I don't think so.
I had to watch it out of pure curiosity.
I lost two hours of my life dammit!
I watched this movie quite a few times when I was in high school.
Back then it was funny and all right to watch.
Stiles always made me laugh. The wolf costume isn't terrible.
The father's costume is hilarious.
This is a good movie. I saw it in the theater. I have no problem with any of the Underworld movies.
I was glad to see the lycans kick the vampire ass all over the place. I have always said that werewolves are more vicious and brutal than vampires.
The character of Lucian was a bit more evil and terrifying in the other films but I thought this was a great starting point. I do like how he gets the wolves to rise up against their captors.
On another note, my son would lay on the floor drinking his bottle and watch this film when he was a baby. Now that he's 1, he will still watch it as long as he's on my lap!
Jack Nicholson! How can you go wrong? You can't.
I was very impressed with this film in the earlier 90's and watched it again recently and still enjoyed it thoroughly.
All the acting in this story is good and the filmmakers did a great job with the movement of the wolves.
Although it is alot different than most werewolf films, the storyline is really well though out and I enjoy the twists that this film takes.
This movie is terrible! Ha Ha but it is pretty funny at times. Ripping on Twilight brings joy to my black heart.
This is just a satire and really not worth watching. I won't lie, I laughed a few times pretty hard, but it is just plain dumb!
Wow. I love the first three Underworld movies. This one was a big disappointment.
Kate Beckinsale nude in the icy fog was great!
Way too much CGI in this film. It's like the director was relying on it too much. The actors also didn't seem as "into" the story as the previous films.
I saw it in the theater in 3D. Really the only effects that were noticeable in 3D were the occasional weapon coming at you and the dust they released in the science building.
The storyline and dialogue could have been great. It just seemed like this film was rushed or done out of "going through the motions". like I said, the previous Underworld films are great but this one, ah not so much.
This film is bad ass!
Dog Soldiers features some of my favorite werewolf design! I love how the creatures are so tall. They look vicious as Hell! Very cool!
I really think the acting in this film was good. I feel that the cast worked on learning their lines and the story pretty well. The cinematography is great as well. Each scene was well thought out.
There are some really good and brutal kill scenes in the movie. This not full of CGI or fake ass crap! it has real blood and costumes. It is believable!
Highly recommend watching film!
Dude, this movie sucked. I was hoping it would at least be all right because the Frog Brothers were in it. It was terrible.
The acting was just inexcusable. I didn't think Corey Feldman would do that bad, but he did. The other actors didn't do well either.
The main vampire or "source" of it all was nothing more than a preppy little punk ass kid. I laughed at that!
The best part about the film was the last 5 minutes when they begin to discuss lycanthropy.
A total waste of my time.
You all know I am not super harsh on reviews but, this one deserves to be in the garbage!
Gary Oldman always kicks ass! He did a great job as the "Hunter".
The overall storyline of this film is ok. I say "ok" because it is not terrible nor is it outstanding. The premise for a werewolf or a giant wolf in this case stalking a village makes sense and the reactions of the villagers is pretty believable. The flaws here are simple though. Nobody in the 1800's had mousse or hair gel ha ha! Another flaw was the whole love triangle with Amanda Seyfried and two of the male villagers. It was just kind of hokie!
Although the wolf was for the most part done with CGI, it did not look too bad. Normally I hate CGI but this one passed my expectations.
The film did a bit too dangerously close to some sort of "Twilight" romance theme at times and with me that is a big "no no".
Overall this movie was an ok one time watch. I don't think I'll bother watching it again unless a lot of time has passed.
Once again, Gary Oldman makes this film better. Without him it would have been a huge flop.
This film was ok. A lot of people didn't like it in my circles but I didn't mind it.
The plot was a really cool idea. It could have been done better with acting and special effects but it was ok.
R (for strong bloody horror violence and gore, language, drug use and some sexuality/nudity) Can't go wrong there!
I did like seeing all the creatures from movies, stories, and video games. That really surprised me.
The werewolf looked pretty good and was vicious, I just wish he would have had a bigger part in the film.
Seeing Sigourney Weaver was a treat!
